The story of Pat Carey, an early settler, farmer, tugboat builder and operator, and one of the first bush-pilots in Western Canada, as told to Ben Nuttall-Smith.
Using skills he honed by building his own very early aeroplanes, Pat taught himself how to fly. Then he taught others at the airport on Lulu Island (the present-day city of Richmond, BC).
Pat was hired to fly everything from a horse, Caterpillar tractor (in pieces), and a murderer, unaccompanied. There were adventures. And a misadventure.
